Old School Vulcanizing Tool

During our Christmas roadtrip to La Union, one of our riding buddies had a flat tire twice. The second time he had the flat tire, we ran into this so-called vulcanizing shop wherein a boy, as in a 10 year old boy was in charge.

I noticed that he had this sort of a contraption which later I realized to be a vulcanizing kit made out of an old engine piston.
