Tapsi ni Vivian at Bulaluhan | Tuazon Ave | Marcos Highway
If you are looking for a nice TAPSILOG or BULALO house at the general area of Marikina then probably you know about “Tapsi ni Vivian at Bulaluhan” which is located at Gil Fernando Avenue formerly Tuazon Avenue near Marcos Highway.
It is near Sta Lucia East Grand Mall, you just need to walk a few meters, cross the foot bridge and walk a few more ahead.
A business which started 1984 as a small time Tapsilugan is now a booming business. I don’t know of any expansion or branches yet. You will also see Vivian actively monitoring what is happening within her eatery. Though she doesn’t look like the one in the picture below anymore (she is older now of course
)
For those who don’t what TAPSILOG is, read below or go to a wikipedia entry about tapa here
Tapsilog is the term used when tapa, garlic-fried rice (“sinangag”), and fried egg (“itlog“) are combined into one meal, which is served primarily during breakfast. The word tapa is related to the Sanskrit term tapas which means “heat”. In Tagalog, a restaurant that primarily serves tapa is called a tapahan, tapsihan or tapsilugan.
For thos who don’t know BULALO is, read below or go click here to read an entry about bulalo
Bulalo is one such favorite soup and the hotter it is the better. It is best complemented by the marrow that is tapped out of the bone. This delightful Beef soup is a specialty of the cattle-raising region in the province of Batangas.
