Estrel’s Caramel Cakes
By becky.ignacio | January 1, 2012
About a month before the holidays, I was already planning of what cake to have on Christmas 2011. And then, I found a web discussion about this certain cake that made me curious about why so much people were drooled over this simple dessert. I am not a fan of Caramel cakes. In fact, I found it very plain and its taste, nothing special. That was… until I tasted Estrel’s.
I placed a pre-order of cake no. 69 (8″ Christmas Season Caramel Filling Cake) and paid it (PHP 600.00) via bank deposit. I asked my sister to pick it up on the eve of Christmas at their only branch in Quezon City. They do not deliver cakes except the layered ones, I think.
the rose decors were buttered icings
and not sugar flowers
looks simple but it’s the best Caramel Cake I have ever tasted! =)
Caramel filling was not too sweet
Estrel’s is always advising their customers to consume the whole cake on the same day of pick-up since it has no preservatives. In our case, it lasted in the fridge until the 27th of December (3 days).
If only Estrel’s would be few blocks away from home, I would definitely have this every single occasion.
